1. How do you think your English writing skills have improved after completing this Wix e-portfolio? (You can talk about your improvement in these aspects: vocabulary, grammar, writing skills, motivation and confidence in writing, and interaction with peers.)

 

I think the biggest improvement is the structure. After I take this composition class, I know how to write well-organized article. It might because the text book and the handout, and a lot of practice and revise.

 

2. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for the final essay drafts?

 

Not bad, I like to see my footprint of learning and my works.

 

3. What do you think about creating the Wix e-portfolio for journal writing and commenting?

It is very satisfied and interesting. When I post mt journal, I always look forward receiving others’ comment and it makes me feel I did a good job. I also like writing comment to encourage others. Reading others’ journal allows me to know their life and something fun I never know before.

4. Do you think that journal writing should be conducted in the same way as essay writing (i.e., Draft 1, peer review, Draft 2, conferencing, and Draft 3 on Wix)? Why or why not?

 

No, if I have to revise my journal again and again, that will limit my creativity of picking the topic, because there must be the topic that is easier to write. I think writing journal is to share the life with a free mind, and cultivate the passion of writing for me. If I am required to have drafts, that will not help.  

 

 

5. What did you benefit from TA feedback after you posted each final essay draft and journal on your Wix e-portfolio? (TA feedback was presented via Excel file and PPT slides).

It helps me to know whether my file is fine. I appreciate TA’s sense of responsibility because she always reminds me things I have not do.

​

6. What did you benefit from conducting self-assessment and peer-assessment of the Wix e-portfolio in the second semester?

​

Peer-assessment are useful. self-assessment is not that useful for me. Asking for others’ feedback works.

 

7. How did this Wix e-portfolio enhance your skills other than writing?

​

I know how to use Wix to make the site more attractive. Once I write, I have to create a site, so there are many chances to practice. If I have time, I try to make it better that the last time or try to use something I have not used before. I learn a lot.

 

8. Overall, what did you benefit from creating and managing this Wix e-portfolio? How is it different from uploading your assignments on ecourse2?

It helps me to see my works in the whole semester, brining me the sense of achievement! What’s more, thanks to the comment box function in Wix, I have a brand-new attitude of writing journal. I’d like to share my journal to others now.

Challenges

1. What difficulties have you encountered in terms of creating and editing your Wix e-portfolio over these two semesters?

​

Not really. It takes time to create great Wix site, but it could be worthy.

 

2. Among all the difficulties mentioned above, what was the most challenging one? How did you handle this challenge?

​

If the deadline is approaching, I just make the page more simple since it takes less time to edit.

 

3. Will you continue to use or write posts on this Wix e-portfolio in the future? Why or why not?

 

I will, if I have time, but I’m wondering its effectiveness comparing to the social media. You have to pay to set your Wix site on the internet, but social media is free. You already have a friend list in the social media so they’ll be available to your article. However, Wix needs some promotion to share the works. So, I may prefer post ma article in social media or elsewhere that needs no fee.
